Watford will take a development squad to their pre-season opener against Woking tomorrow, and development coaches David Horseman and Hayden Mullins will take charge of the Hornets.
The Hornets take on the National League side at the Kingfield Stadium, but the club’s senior players will not make the journey to Surrey.
After the Hornets commenced pre-season training on Monday, it is understood new head coach Marco Silva wants more time to work with his players before fielding a senior squad.
A number of first team players are also yet to return to pre-season training, having been allowed extended breaks.
Ticket prices for the match remain unchanged, despite the change of match day squad with adult tickets costing £15, concessions £10 and under-16s £5.
