A late winner from Abobaker Eisa gave Wealdstone a 1-0 victory over Watford’s Under-23 side at Grosvenor Vale.

The former Uxbridge midfielder produced a moment of magic to win the game yesterday, cutting inside, beating his man and swerving a shot past Sam Howes in the 86th minute.

Chances were limited for both teams in what was a good pre-season test for both sides, with Wealdstone knocking the ball around well and their opponents proving to be an organised outfit.

Alex Jakubiak had a good chance for Watford after 11 minutes, shrugging off Josh Hill and swerving a shot goal-bound that former Hornet Jonathan North tipped wide.

Jakubiak's experience stood out as he continued to carry the bulk of the attacking threat for the visitors after the break, glancing a header just over before he hit a shot into the side netting with 10 minutes to play.

But it was Eisa who won it with a piece of trickery out on the left, taking on Joy Mukena and firing past former Stones loanee Howes.

The goal scorer almost repeated his heroics just a minute later, doing the same thing to one of Watford’s trialists and unleashing a shot from further out, but this time the ball rebounded back off the outside of the post.
