Steven Berghuis is close to ending his disappointing Watford stay with various reports in the Netherlands claiming he is on the verge of returning to Feyenoord.
Berghuis spent last season with the Eredivisie champions, scoring eight goals as they edged Ajax out to secure a first league title since 1999, and boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has made little secret of his desire to bring him back to De Kuip.
There has been understandable intrigue over the 25-year-old during pre-season - partly as he has played barely three games' worth of competitive football for the Hornets since he joined in January 2016.
Dutch media reports state Feyenoord are close to thrashing out a fee with Watford, and have offered only marginally less than the €7 million the Vicarage Road club are seeking.
The Watford Observer contacted Berghuis' agent, Mino Raiola, but he declined to comment.
