Heurelho Gomes has contracted himself to Watford until he is 38 after putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal with the Hornets.

The 36-year-old Brazilian was already under contract until 2018 after he signed an extension last summer, prior to starting every one of the Hornets' 38 Premier League games in 2016/17.

He looks likely to retain the Hornets' number one shirt for the new season although the club are in the market for a new goalkeeper.

Gomes has made 122 appearances for Watford Watford since 2014, was named player of the year in 2016 and finished runner-up to Sebastian Prodl this year.
