Costel Pantilimon will not be left kicking his heels at Vicarage Road after joining Deportivo La Coruna on a season-long loan.
The Romania international was certain to miss out on the Hornets' 25-man Premier League squad after Orestis Karnezis moved to Vicarage Road on a season-long loan yesterday to join fellow goalkeepers Heurelho Gomes and Daniel Bachmann, who signed at the start of the transfer window.
However, the Spanish transfer window closes 24 hours later than the domestic one and this has provided the former Sunderland and Manchester City stopper with an exit route.
The 30-year-old moved to Hertfordshire in January 2016 but has made just nine appearances in all competitions since.
