Moor Park Golf Club professionals Matt Wallace and Callum Shinkwin finished within a shot of each other following the final round of the Portugal Masters.

Wallace shot a level par final round of 71 to end his tournament in a share of 39th place on seven-under-par, while his club-mate was a shot further back in a tie for 46th following a three-under score of 68 for his last 18 holes.

Shinkwin had been one shot off the lead at the end of the first round after a fine six-under-par 65, but scores of 73 and 72 saw the Bushey-based professional drop back down the field.

However, a final round featuring four birdies and just the one dropped shot ensured he finished the Vilamoura event in positive fashion.

Following rounds of 69, 68 and 69, Pinner-based Wallace was to end the tournament one shot better off, but only after an up-and-down last day.

The 27-year-old initially started promisingly with a birdie, but bogeyed four of the next seven holes, before retrieving one of those dropped shots at the ninth to go out in a two-over score of 35.

Following three pars, Wallace moved to minus-one for his last round after birdies at 13, 15 and 17, but a fifth bogey of the day saw him end on his last 18 holes on even par.

Denmark's Lucas Bjerregaard won his maiden European Tour title in satyle, firing a superb 65 to finish four shots ahead of the field on 20-under.
