Michael Oliver will referee his second Watford game of the season on Saturday as he takes charge of Stoke City’s visit to Vicarage Road.

The 32-year-old was the man in the middle for Watford’s trip to the Hawthorns, which saw the Hornets battle back from 2-0 down to earn a point through Richarlison’s last-gasp header.

Oliver showed three yellow cards that day, but has been relatively quick to reach for his pocket this season – brandishing 43 yellow and two red cards in 11 outings this term.

Watford fans will have contrasting memories of games Oliver refereed last season as he was in charge of their 3-1 win over Manchester United, as well as respective 6-1 and 4-1 losses to Liverpool and Tottenham.
