Watford and Stoke City have both been charged over a failure to control their players in the latter stages of Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Vicarage Road.
Two scuffles broke out in injury time of the otherwise good-tempered encounter, with referee Michael Oliver issuing four yellow cards to Mame Diouf, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Troy Deeney and Joe Allen.
The first incident saw Diouf and Doucoure come to blows when disputing a throw-in, and following a heavy tackle between the pair.
And moments later Deeney put his hands in the face of Allen, who had remonstrated with the Watford striker for what he considered unsportsmanlike behaviour from another throw. Deeney is already facing a seperate charge of violent conduct over the matter.
Both altercations resulted in a number of players from both sides joining in, although none of the others were booked.
Watford and Stoke have been given until 6pm on Friday to respond.
