Abdoulaye Doucoure has reiterated his happiness at playing for Watford, but accepts he will reassess his options in the summer.

The midfielder’s form this term has been excellent and he is among the first names on Marco Silva’s team sheet.

His performances have, inevitably, brought with them admiring glances from elsewhere, but the 24-year-old says he is enjoying life at Vicarage Road.

“I am always happy to play and show what I can do. After, of course, maybe at the end of the season you never know,” Doucoure said.

“Every player wants to grow but for me the first thing is I am at Watford and I give everything for the club. After I will speak with the owner. I am happy here but we will see.”

Doucoure’s growing prominence in the Watford midfield has seen him establish a strong understanding with Tom Cleverley.

The duo were once again in fine form on Sunday as they bossed the battle in the centre of the park to help the Hornets to a 2-0 win over a woeful West Ham United.

The Frenchman says he is relishing playing with Cleverley and spoke glowingly of his midfield partner.

“I am enjoying playing alongside Tom because he is a very good player, is very clever and is a very good guy outside of the pitch as well,” he said.

“Today we played so well together and I hope we can continue to play like this.”
