Oxhey Jets were left with a solitary point from South Midland Premier Division games against Cockfosters and Stotfold.

Their meeting with Cockfosters saw the game get away from them in the second half after they went in level at the break.

Nick Kerley was on target as the first period ended all square at 2-2, but Cockfosters pulled away in the second half.

Tuesday provided greater reason for optimism for Jets as they held Stotfold to a 1-1 stalemate.

Berkhamsted extended their unbeaten start to the season to 13 games as they picked up respective 2-2 draws against Biggleswade United and Edgware Town.

Saturday’s meeting with United saw Berko battle for a share of the spoils despite missing a number of key players for the clash.

Steve Bateman was without his captain, Jon Munday, and also had to compensate for the loss of influential forward Chris Blunden, as both players served one match bans.

The absentees were clearly missed and United started the better of the two sides as they worked Carl Tasker on a number of occasions.

It was Berko who took the lead in spectacular fashion with 25 minutes played, however, when Adam Mead spotted the United keeper off his line and scored directly from a 50 yard free kick.

The lead proved to be short-lived and the home side were level just eight minutes later when a deep free-kick was headed in by Joe Gorman.

The United man doubled his tally soon after the half-time restart after a wayward defensive header sent him clear to make it 2-1.

With time running out, Berko’s unbeaten record looked to be coming to an end until Ashley Morrissey popped up with an 82nd minute leveller.

Tuesday’s match may have produced the same scoreline, but Berko would have been left with differing emotions having twice led against Edgware Town.

Berko went ahead with 11 minutes played when Mead finished clinically from 20 yards, but Rio Beech scored a minute before the break to ensure parity at half-time.

Mead came to the fore soon after the restart, notching his second from the spot after Morrissey had been fell in the box.

The home side would have to make do with a point when Stanley Anum levelled in the 77th minute.

Leverstock Green’s appetite for goals showed no signs of letting up as they scored nine times to record back-to-back wins.

Despite leaking five goals against Biggleswade FC on Saturday, Green proved too strong in front of goal and ran out 5-3 winners.

They were three up with only 23 minutes played as strikes from Jonathan Lacey and Shane Wood added to an own-goal.

Rueben Rabstein then returned the favour before the break and Tom Cookman made it 3-2 in the 46th minute.

A second for Lacey and late Ross Adams goal ensured Alex Marsh’s 90th minute effort for Biggelswade mattered little.

Green picked up on Tuesday where they left off on Saturday as they cruised to a 4-2 win over Hadley.

Finally, Tring Athletic proved too strong for London Colney as they came from behind to record a 2-1 home win on Saturday.

Jack Reed and Elliott Goward got the goals for Tring.
