Kings Langley failed to bounce back from Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Biggleswade Town as they were beaten 3-1 by Stotfold on Tuesday.

They were once again off the pace as they went down to an 11th Southern League Premier Division loss of the season.

The visitors were by far the better team and made their dominance show by moving into a 2-0 lead.

A strike from Sam Tring looked to have revived Kings’ hopes of taking something from the game.

But it wasn’t to be as Stratford restored their two-goal advantage to take all three points.

The defeat was made all the more disappointing considering the fact Kings went into the game three points adrift of Stratford.

Hobbs’ men can be in no doubt about the severity of their situation and they are firmly involved in the relegation conversation.

They sit 21st in the table and are just eight points clear of basement club Gosport Borough having won three games all season.

Their next task looks to be an ominous one as league leaders King’s Lynn Town pay a visit to Gaywood Park.

They enjoy a four-point cushion at the summit of the table and have won all but four of their league games this season.
