Marco Silva is convinced a confident Watford will be able to compete with tittle-chasing Manchester United tomorrow.

The Hornets welcome Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils to Vicarage Road on the back of a commanding 3-0 win over Newcastle United.

United, meanwhile, laboured to a 1-0 defeat of Brighton and Silva insists Watford will, as always, be looking to take all three points from the encounter.

“We will do our best tomorrow and I am sure we will compete. With the result we will see, but we will compete,” Silva said.

“We did our work and analysed the Man United team and they are strong this season. We looked at some moments in the game and it is important we can compete tomorrow and play with confidence.

“I am happy with how we have worked since the first day to compete really hard during the match. Every game we compete to win and this is our way.”

Much of Watford’s success this season has come on the road, with victory at St James’ Park providing the Hornets fourth away win of the season.

Home comforts have proven harder to come by and wins over Arsenal and West Ham United are their sole triumphs at WD18 this campaign.

Silva insists Watford’s approach remains the same whether they are playing at home or on the road.

“The work and attitude as a team, we don’t change anything until now when we play home or away,” he said.

“We play always with the same confidence and try to score and win matches. This is our philosophy and the away numbers are very good for the team.

“We can do better and even in some games where we didn’t achieve the best results we did really well.”
