Michael Oliver will take charge of a Watford for game for the first time since the fiery 1-0 defeat to Stoke City in October.

The 32-year-old will be the man in the middle for Huddersfield Town’s visit to Vicarage Road and will be hoping for a quitter afternoon than his last visit to Hertfordshire.

He brandished eight yellow cards as Darren Fletcher’s strike proved the difference and both sides were fined for failing to control their players.

Troy Deeney received a retrospective three game ban for digging his fingers into Joe Allen’s face, an incident Oliver missed during the game.

He also refereed Watford’s dramatic 2-2 draw with West Brom earlier in the campaign, which saw Richarlison salvage a point with a last-gasp header.

Oliver is viewed by many as one of the top flight’s top officials and took charge of the Manchester Derby on Sunday, where he correctly booked Ander Herrera for diving.

The Northumberland-born ref has shown 74 yellow cards and three red in 18 games this season.
