The Premier League have announced the referees due to take charge of Watford’s four games over the festive period.

Marco Silva’s men begin the hectic period with a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, December 23 when they are due to have a new official for this season in charge.

Paul Tierney has officiated in only six Premier League matches during the current campaign – and 13 league and cup games in total – but has yet to show a red card.

In fact, the last player he dismissed was Miguel Britos for a second yellow card during the Hornets’ 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion in April.

Following the trip to the south coast, Watford return to Vicarage Road to face resurgent Leicester City on Boxing Day.

Having had a relatively trouble-free time of it during the 3-0 victory at Newcastle United, Chris Kavanagh is set to referee a Hornets game for the second time in barely a month.

Martin Atkinson refereed Silva’s men even more recently than Kavanagh – the controversial 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur – and he is due to be back at Vicarage Road on Saturday, December 30 for the Swansea City fixture.

And to complete the trend of recent appointees taking charge of another Watford game, Lee Mason has been appointed for the trip to runaway leaders Manchester City on Tuesday, January 2, having been in charge of the midweek defeat at Crystal Palace.
