Craig Cathcart made his return to action as Watford beat Queens Park Rangers 2-1 in a training ground friendly this afternoon.
The Northern Ireland international, who has been sidelined since August due to a knee injury and surgery, played for 75 minutes, while in another injury boost for the Hornets Isaac Success also got 90 minutes under his belt.
Goals from Troy Deeney and Sebastian Prodl secured the win, but Cathcart was understandably pleased to get some minutes under his belt.
“It's nice to be back in a game situation, I've been back in full training for a week now,” he told the club website.
“It was good to get back on the pitch - obviously training is a bit different, there's different distances you have to run so it was good to get back into the swing of things and get 75 minutes under my belt.”
