Watford supporter group the 1881 are calling on Hornets fans to help pay tribute to Graham Taylor at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Friday marks the one-year anniversary since the Watford legend’s passing and the 1881 hopes to mark the occasion before kick-off.

Fans are encouraged to bring a scarf to Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Southampton on Saturday, which they will be asked to hold aloft as the players make their way onto the pitch.

1881 founder, Roy Moore, has helped put on a number displays, including covering the entire Rookery End with a flag earlier this season, and hopes Saturday’s effort can be just as memorable.

“Our goal has always been about improving the atmosphere at the Vic,” he told the club website.

“We’re hoping that the chance to pay tribute to our greatest ever manager will bring supporters in all four stands together and create something really special.

“Most supporters have a scarf or two lying about at home, this is the time to dig them out and proudly hold them aloft to pay tribute to GT and show your support for the team”
