Watford are reportedly one of four Premier League clubs chasing Atletico Madrid midfielder Nico Gaitan.

The Hornets are joined by West Ham United, Southampton and Everton in pursuing the 29-year-old Argentine.

Spanish news outlet Marca claims two of those clubs want to bring the winger in on a permanent basis, while the other two are looking to complete a loan deal until the end of the season.

The former Boca Juniors man would fit the bill for a perspective Watford signing, with Marco Silva looking to bolster his attacking options.

The Watford boss has previously bemoaned his limited number of wingers and was publically disappointed not to add further wide reinforcements in the summer transfer window.

Madrid value Gaitan, who has made 12 appearances this season and joined the club in July 2016, at €20 million.

He previously spent six years at Portuguese side Benfica, where he won the Promeira Liga on three occasions.
