Rich Hoskins bemoaned a “mad 10 minutes” which saw his Fullerians side slip to a 38-28 defeat against Eton Manor on Saturday.

Fullers moved into a 21-12 lead early in the second half, only for a sin bin to allow Manor to score a succession of quickfire tries and turn the game on its head.

With the points looking all but secured, Hoskins was left frustrated by the manner in which Fullers let the game slip out of their control against their London One North rivals.

“We played very well at times and deserved something from the game but that mad 10 minutes in the second half cost us the game when we were in control,” the head coach said.

“We sometimes lack those one per cents that can make a massive difference in the game but we are learning and will continue to build during the season.”

A pair of penalties from Tom Fawsett added to a Drew Horne try to leave Fullers trailing 12-11 at half-time.

They started the second half at breakneck speed and James Maher caught the restart to put the visitors under immediate pressure.

A succession of short ball phases culminated in Liam Boyd crashing over and a further Fawsett peanalty put Fullers in control with the score at 21-12.

However, Sam Tinsley was shown a game changing yellow card for a high tackle and Manor took full advantage.

The scored in the corner soon after Tinsley had trudged off and ran in 27 unanswered points to move 38-21 ahead as the game approached its close.

Fullers looked to mount a late fight back but a Jamie Molloy try wasn’t enough to kickstart a late turnaround as they slipped to defeat.

The result leaves Fullers eighth in the table and they will hope to return to winning ways when they travel for an away day against North Walsham tomorrow.
