Kings Langley skiing star Eleanor Scranage-Harrison’s medal-filled week at the English Alpine Championships continued on Wednesday with a silver in the slalom.

At 16, the Ambition Racing skier is one of the country’s brightest young talents and provided further evidence on Wednesday that she’s fully-recovered from eight months out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The Under-16s slalom saw Scranage-Harrison battle it out with Manchester’s Daisi Daniels for top spot once again, after the Kings Langley teenager had finishing third behind the gold medallist in Sunday’s Super G.

Daniels took gold again on Wednesday but the contest between the two is always tight, with Scranage-Harrison recording the best second run in the field to take second place.

“I thought in my first run I made a few mistakes but my second one I was really pleased with and I felt it’s the best I’ve skied in a while,” said the Hertfordshire teenager.

“The first course was really quite turny at the top so I struggled to get a lot of speed, but the second course was much more my style, it got a bit faster.

“My knee’s fine as well, it’s been coping well with everything so I’m glad it’s not been causing any problems.

“It’s probably one of my best results this season, I’m really happy with it.”

Wednesday’s showing added to a successful week for the teenager as she built on a strong showing in the Super-G race.

She performed well to seal a third-place finish in the event and was understandably delighted with the manner of her display.

“I’m really, really happy with my run,” said the Ambition Racing team-member.

“I wasn’t expecting anything from it because I’ve just come back from tearing my ACL – so I’m really happy with how I did.

“Since I’ve come back from doing my knee I did the Ambition Championships, the slalom and the giant slalom and then this is my first Super-G of the season, it feels really good.

“I love the course, it felt a lot straighter than on Sunday which suited me quite well, I had one or two little mistakes but overall I’m happy with my run.”
