Charlton beat MK Dons 2-1 to move back into a play-off spot.

Goals from in-form duo Ahmed Kashi and Josh Magennis gave the Addicks a first win in four games.

Here are five things we learned…

Joe Aribo stars yet again

Aribo hasn't had a bad game this season. Playing in an unfamiliar number 10 role, he was superb. His link-up play with Magennis, Ben Reeves and Sullay Kaikai played a massive part in the victory.

He was unlucky to lose his starting place when Jake Forster-Caskey recovered from a hamstring injury last month. And with Forster-Caskey also performing well on Saturday, it’s given Karl Robinson a massive selection dilemma for the Shrewsbury game.

Tariqe Fosu, if fully fit, is likely to come back in, so Aribo’s starting place could be at threat once again.

Ahmed Kashi keeps on getting better

It’s now two goals in February for the midfielder. If he really starts adding goals to his game, then it’s going to be scary.

Kashi dominated MK Dons’ midfield with ease. He covers every blade of grass - and is becoming a real leader for Karl Robinson’s side.

He is Charlton’s most important player. The club needs to tie him down to a new contract soon.

Karl Robinson changed it up

Prior to the MK Dons win, Robinson had been unlucky with conceding late goals after making substitutions.

Some fans criticised him for not making a substitute until the 84th minute against Bradford last week. But he got it spot on at Stadium MK.

He switched to a back-five for the final 16 minutes - and the home side found it difficult to break the Addicks down.

Defenders Jason Pearce and Harry Lennon were subbed on and didn't put a foot wrong.

Josh Magennis’ form will help secure a top six finish

Magennis is enjoying a purple patch after scoring his third goal in four games. The extra competition for places has definitely helped him.

He is on eight goals for the season, just two off his tally last year, and if the Addicks have him firing for the remaining 14 games then they’ll secure a play-off spot.

Magennis, just like Kashi, is irreplaceable.

Incredible away support for the second successive trip

Charlton fans never stopped singing at Doncaster, and they did the same on Saturday.

The 1,000-plus travelling supporters would've feared the worst when Kieran Agard halved the deficit with over 25 minutes to go, but their support helped the players over the line.

It’s football for a fiver against Shrewsbury, so an increased attendance will only aid the Addicks.
