Javi Gracia sis yet to speak to Abdoulaye Doucoure about interest from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
The French midfielder revealed all three Premier League sides were keen on signing him in the summer while speaking with media in his homeland this week.
Gracia is understandably focused on Saturday’s clash with Everton at Vicarage Road and has spent time instructing Doucoure on what he expects in the game.
The Watford boss also says he cannot say whether the interest Doucoure speaks of is based in fact.
He said: “I have spoken with him about the movement when we play Everton but not about that (links).
“I do not know if there are other big clubs interested in Doucoure or other players.”
While speculation linking your best players with a move away is not ideal, it does give an indication of the sort of form Doucoure has shown this season.
For Gracia, such links are an inevitability of performing well in the Premier League and says discussions about transfers are best dealt with at a later date.
He said: “If there are clubs interested it is because they are playing well. I am interested in them playing well and we will see what happens in the future.”
