Adam Lallana could miss Watford’s clash with Liverpool on Saturday after appearing to miss training on Wednesday.
The Liverpool Echo claim the 28-year-old was not part of Jurgen Klopp’s first-team session at Melwood in what looks to be the latest set-back in an injury plagued season.
Lallana has made just 12 appearances in all competitions this season after missing the start of the season through injury and has struggled to make an impact on Liverpool’s starting XI.
He made his return from injury against Chelsea in late November but difficulties regaining full fitness, coupled with the Reds’ fine form, have made starts hard to come by.
The former Southampton man came on as a second half substitute in Liverpool’s 2-1 loss at Old Trafford on Saturday, but was not pictured among the players involved in training yesterday.
Victory over Liverpool at Anfield could see Watford move 12 points clear of the danger zone dependant on Crystal Palace’s result at Huddersfield earlier in the day.
