Velez Sarsfield man Mauro Zarate has been on good form since joining the club on loan in January and was on target once again on Sunday.

The former West Ham United player scored a 40th minute penalty, but saw Diego Chavez hit back three minutes later for Arsenal Sarandi in the 1-1 draw.

Alex Jakubiak couldn’t inspire Falkirk to victory against Livingston as they played out a goalless draw in their Scottish Championship clash at the Energy Assets Arena.

Livingston looked to have struck a decisive blow after 21 minutes when Joshua Mullin put the ball in the net but he saw his effort ruled out for offside.

A point against a side sitting second in the table can only be seen as a positive and leaves Falkirk seven points above the drop zone with 10 games to play.

In La Liga, Nordin Amrabat played all but one minute of Leganes’ 2-1 win over Sevilla which came thanks to goals from Unai Bustinza Martinez and Javier Eraso.

Former Watford man Miguel Layun was on target for Sevilla with a 90th minute strike which proved to be little more than a consolation.

The forward played 69 minutes of the 0-0 stalemate before being replaced by Keko in what was only his fourth appearance for Malaga.

Conor Stevens was an unused sub as goals from Rob Sinclair, Sam Nombe and Freddie Grant gave Oxford City a 3-1 win over Welling United.
