Abdoulaye Doucoure will not allow missing out on the latest France squad to impact on his form at Watford, insists Hornets head coach Javi Gracia.

Didier Deschamps' side face Colombia tomorrow before playing World Cup hosts Russia in their second friendly of the break on Tuesday.

Doucoure's excellent displays at the heart of Watford's midfield, which have seen him score seven goals this term, have prompted many to suggest the 25-year-old is worthy of a call-up to Les Bleus.

The man himself has spoken of his desire to make an impression on the international stage, but Gracia is convinced he will not be disheartened by missing out.

"No. I think he would prefer to be there and to enjoy the national team, but I think he is happy with his season and with Watford," Gracia said.

"All the players want to play with the national team, I think, and I don't think he'll change his attitude or the way he plays with us."

Doucoure has emerged as a target for a number of the Premier League's top sides, with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur coveting his signature, according to Doucoure.

His emergence as a top performer in the Premier League has not been enough to force his way into Deschamps plans.

With Paul Pogba, Ngolo Kante and Blaise Matuidi all ahead of him in the pecking order, doing so will be a tough ask.

Gracia remained tight-lipped on whether her felt Docuoure was worthy of a spot in the France squad and says the decision is ultimately out of his hands.

He said: "I'm happy with because he's having a great season. The decisions is for other coaches and the French national team.

"It's not up to me and I want to respect the other coaches."
