Watford defender Andrew Eleftheriou is expected to join Norwegian side Sandefjord on loan until July, the player’s representatives have confirmed.

Eleftheriou announced the deal on his Instagram and twitter accounts earlier today and Watford have since confirmed a move has been agreed.

His loan switch will run until July 19 and comes with the option of an extension.

The agreement to take the 20-year-old away from Vicarage Road comes after Eleftheriou has spent time out of the Hornets’ Under-23 side.

The full-back's Watford future is far from over and he put pen to paper on a new one year deal prior to making the loan move.

Sandefjord are currently bottom of the Norwegian top flight, but have played just one game in a season which is still in its infancy.

The youngster’s progress has stalled somewhat after he impressed sufficiently enough last season to make his senior debut under the now departed Walter Mazzarri.

He came on as a 39th minute substitute in the final game of the 2016/17 season to make what is to date his only outing at first-team level for the club.

His debut ended in less than memorable fashion as a rampant Manchester City hit the Hornets for five without reply at Vicarage Road.

Eleftheriou had been in and around the Watford squad in the build up to the outing, but has failed to do the same this season under first Marco Silva and now Javi Gracia.
