Watford’s Dennon Lewis is reportedly on trial with Championship side Ipswich as he bids to secure a move to a new club.

Having failed to secure a new deal at Vicarage Road, Lewis is set to be released at the end of the season.

With this in mind, the youngster will be eager to find a new club as soon as possible as he looks to continue his development.

The 20-year-old has been a regular fixture in Hayden Mullins’ Under-23 side but has failed to make an impression on the Watford first team.

He has already featured for the Tractor Boys’ Under-23 outfit as he took part in their 2-1 loss against Huddersfield on Monday.

While Lewis will depart Watford without making any appearances for the senior side, he does boast experience at both League Two and National League level.

He spent the first half of this season on loan at Crawley where he made 14 outings before returning to Vicarage Road to continue his development.

Last season saw Lewis sent out on loan once again and he played 29 times for Woking, scoring four goals in the process.

Lewis joined the Hornets academy in 2008 before going on to sign his first professional contract in 2015, and his versatility could well appeal to potential suitors.

Largely used as a full-back or winger, he has on occasion also operated in a striking role for Watford’s junior sides.
