Newcastle United could be without Islam Slimani for their visit to Vicarage Road after the striker was charged with violent conduct.
The charge relates to an 80th minute incident during the Magpies’ 1-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion, which saw Slimani appear kick out at Craig Dawson.
Slimani has until 6pm today to respond to the FA’s decision, at which point a panel of former referees will be left to decide on his punishment.
The 29-year-old, who was linked with a move to Watford last summer, is currently on loan at St James’ Park from Leicester City and is yet to score for Rafa Benitez’s side.
Saturday’s clash with United is Watford’s final home game of the season and will once again see the Hornets looking for a return to winning ways.
They have failed to win any of their last seven games and remain mathematically involved in the relegation shake up heading into the final two games of the season.
Defeat would end any hopes Watford retain of securing a top half finish.
