Roberto Pereyra could be fit to face Newcastle United tomorrow but Andre Carrillo will miss the clash, Watford head coach Javi Gracia confirmed.

An injury suffered in the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace saw Pereyra miss the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Monday night.

After training with the rest of the Watford squad throughout the week, the attacking-midfielder is in line to feature against the Magpies at Vicarage Road.

“Pereyra is coming back and is in full training with the team,” Gracia said. “Carrillo has an abductor problem and is not available for the game.”

Gracia revealed Stefano Okaka would miss the remainder of the season with an injury last week and he has since undergone surgery.

The operation was a success but the striker remains among a number of players who won’t feature again this term.

“Okaka had an operation on Monday and yesterday he left the hospital. He is ok but is out of the team for the rest of the season,” he said.

“Other players like [Tom] Cleverley are out of the team. He is under treatment, but I think it is not possible for him to play this season.”

Nathaniel Chalobah has been sidelined for much of the season after fracturing his kneecap in September, but has stepped up his recovery in recent weeks.

The midfielder is not ready to play any part tomorrow, but Gracia holds hope he may be part of his plans for the final day clash with Manchester United.

Gracia said: “Chalobah is training with the team and is with us every day, so we will see over the next days if he will play [again this season].”

Finally, skipper Troy Deeney has recovered fully from the ankle problem which meant he was only fit enough for a place on the bench against Spurs.

The striker could well return to the starting XI, but Gracia also confirmed he had been impressed with the efforts of Andre Gray who started in Deeney’s stead at Wembley.
