Nordin Amrabat is set to be on the plane to Russia after being named in Morocco’s World Cup squad.

The Watford wide man, who has been on a season-long loan with Leganes, has been named in the list of 23 players, with coach Herve Renard also selecting three reserves ahead of beginning preparations in Rabat on May 24.

Amrabat’s younger brother Sofyan, who plays for Feyenoord, is also named in the 23-man squad, with Morocco facing warm-up games against Ukraine and Slovakia, on May 31 and June 4 respectively in Geneva, before they play their final pre-tournament fixture against Estonia in Tallinn on June 9.

The 31-year-old Hornets midfielder made 29 appearances in La Liga, in addition to three in the Premier League, this season and will be seeking to add to his 41 international caps.

Making their first appearance in the finals since 1998, Morocco are in Group B alongside Portugal, Spain and Iran.

Former Watford loanee M’baye Niang is also World Cup-bound after being selected in Senegal’s 23-man squad.

Now at Torino, Niang has been included alongside some other familiar names including Liverpool’s Sadio Mane and Stoke forward Mame Biram Diouf, plus midfielders Idrissa Gueye and Cheikou Kouyate of Everton and West Ham respectively.

Senegal are in Group H alongside Poland, Colombia and Japan.
