Watford have reportedly entered the race to sign Egyptian winger Mahmoud Hassan from Turkish side Kasimpasa.

The 23-year-old, who is referred to as Trezgeuet, spent the season on loan at Kasimpasa from Anderlecht before they decided to activate €2 million option to sign him permanently.

Watford are among a number of teams who have shown interest in Trezgeuet and are said to have tabled a €6m bid to secure his services.

Galatasaray have also been linked with a move for Trezgeuet who has been in impressive form throughout the 2017/18 campaign.

As well as scoring 16 goals in 33 appearances to be Kasimpasa’s top scorer, the Egypt international has provided eight assists in all competitions this season.

Any decision on Trezgeuet’s future will be put on hold until after the World Cup where he will be part of the Egypt team which faces Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay in the group stages.

After a season in which Abdoulaye Doucoure was Watford’s top scorer with seven goals, Javi Gracia will be eager to add extra firepower to his squad before the start of next term.

Troy Deeney, Andre Gray and Stefano Okaka scored 12 goals between them last term and Richarlison struggled for form after scoring five times by November.
