Talented teenage hurdler Ralph Williams signed off his Parmiter’s School athletics career in style by claiming victory in the Hertfordshire Schools Athletic Association (HSAA) final in a stunning time of 13.60 seconds.

The 15-year-old record breaker subsequently secured immediate qualification to next month’s English Schools’ competition, to be held at Birmingham International Stadium in July.

This latest achievement adds to a conveyor belt of incredible results for the Hertfordshire number one.

During his time at the High Elms Lane school, Williams has been part of their Under-20’s squad that won back-to-back 110m hurdles titles, also proving his versatility by obliterating a long-standing 27-year-old long jump record with a jump of over 6m.

Having been instrumental in the school’s qualification a year ago, Williams duly smashed the district record at the 2018 Hertfordshire indoor finals, spearheading Parmiter’s charge to victory in the process.

Williams, who currently sits at number five in the UK rankings, also holds his school’s hurdles record and even secured his athletic club’s Under-17 men’s sprint hurdles title in Bromley; a record in the 100m that had laid untouched for 15 years.

His insatiable appetite for winning was epitomised in March this year when the Lee Valley-trained star claimed his club’s indoor sprint hurdles record having crossed the line in a time of 8.56, another impressive achievement for an athlete with a track record for success.
