One-time Watford target Lukasz Fabianski has completed a move to West Ham United.
The Polish goalkeeper had been linked with a £5 million switch to Vicarage Road after making it clear he wanted to depart relegated Swansea City.
However, the Hammers soon emerged as favourites to sign the 33-year-old and have now sealed a three-year deal for the former Arsenal man after paying £7m.
Watford are in the market for a goalkeeper this summer after the departure of loanee Orestis Karnezis at the end of last season.
Heurelho Gomes remains at the club, but is in the final year of his contract and at 37 can no longer realistically be seen as a long-term option between the sticks for the Hornets.
A host of names have since been reported to be on Watford’s radar, with Sevilla’s Segio Rico and Benfica stopper Bruno Varela both rumoured targets.
