Watford will face Sampdoria at Vicarage Road in the Graham Taylor Matchday.

The two sides meet in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday, August 4 in what will be the Golden Boys’ final pre-season game before starting their Premier League campaign against Brighton the following week.

A statue of Taylor will also be revealed before the game as the Vic comes together the pay tribute to the club’s greatest ever manager, who passed away in January 2017.

The announcement sees Sampdoria become the fifth team Watford will play during their pre-season schedule.

Javi Gracia’s men face Stevenage and Brentford on homes soil and will also take on FC Koln and Fortuna Dusseldorf in behind-closed-doors friendlies while on tour in Austria.

Tickets for the Graham Taylor Matchday can be purchased from Tuesday, July 10 and cost £12 for adults, £9 for over-65s, £6 for full-time students and £3 for 18 and under.

Sales will initially begin in the Sir Elton John Stand and the Rookery Stand will be opened depending on the amount of sales made.
