Watford Ladies’ recruitment drive shows no sign of letting up after they made their second signing in as many days.

Midfielder Laura Baker, who has previously played for Cambridge United, arrives at the club ahead of the upcoming Women’s National League South Division campaign.

She is confident Watford will be competitive during 2018/19 and has set her sights on nothing less than winning the title.

“The Women’s National League is a good league, and I think we’ve got a chance of challenging for the title with the players that we now have at the club,” she said.

“It’s a step up for me personally, and I’m just looking forward to pushing on with the club now.”

Baker is eager to ensure she has a telling impact on the Golden Girls’ starting XI and says she is now fully focused on her football after finding a balance between work and sport.

“I want to play week in week out, like every player does, and just want to improve this year and commit to football and take it more seriously," she said.

“When I was younger I played a lot more, but work began to take over. It’s nice now that I’ll be able to have a balance between work and football, and really be able to concentrate on the football side of things.”
