Kings Langley wrapped up their pre-season programme and returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory against near neighbours Berkhamsted at Gaywood Park on Saturday.

Kings fell behind mid-way through the first half to an Ibe Lukually strike but rebounded in the second thanks to an effort from new signing Davide Pobbe, before the winner arrived three minutes from time.

Northwood slipped to their second pre-season defeat with a 3-1 reverse at home to Aylesbury United on Saturday.

The Woods grabbed an early lead as Ben Pattie netted for the seventh time in pre-season after just 10 minutes, but goals from Gary Jones, Jamie Keen and Aaron Berry secured the win for the Ducks.

On Tuesday, Dean Barker’s side played the last of their pre-season fixtures against Aylesbury FC at Chestnut Avenue and ran out comfortable 4-0 winners thanks to a brace from James Ewington and goals from Jerome Slew and Adam Murad.

They have since announced a further four signings to their squad. Young goalkeeper Coalan Doyle, last season’s player of the year Wilson Chingoka and defender Sam Tring join the aforementioned Slew in signing forms.

Northwood kick-off their Bostik League South Central campaign at home to Tooting & Mitcham United tomorrow, kick-off 3pm.

Berkhamsted concluded their pre-season preparations against Hellenic League Division One East side Penn & Tylers Green on Tuesday, where they ran out 4-0 victors.

Goals from Will Summerfield, Courtney Massey, Milano Rebeiro Sanchez and Marcus Campbell secured the win for the Comrades.

Berko play their first competitive game of the new season away at local rivals Tring Athletic in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round tomorrow. Kick-off is 3pm at the Grass Roots Stadium.

Their first game in the Southern League doesn’t get underway until the following weekend when they play their Division One Central opener against Peterborough Sports at Broadwater.

Sun Sports continued their preparations for the new Herts Senior County League Premier Division campaign with a change of advertised friendly.

Rather than playing a Harpenden Town Development squad as originally planned on Tuesday, Sun entertained Watford-based Glenn Sports Club and ran out 4-3 winners at Bellmount Wood Avenue.

Danny Regan and Jonny Hopkins were both amongst the goals as they edged out their opponents by the odd goal in seven.

Tomorrow they entertain Essex Olympian Premier Division side Bishop’s Stortford Swifts in a 3pm kick-off ahead of their season opener against Ware Sports the following weekend.
