The visit of Huddersfield Town to Vicarage Road provides the “most difficult game” Watford could face, says head coach Javi Gracia.

Watford were dominant on the road on Saturday as they eased to a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and will start Saturday’s game as firm favourites.

Huddersfield have failed to win any of their Premier League games this season and sit second bottom of the table having picked up three points in 2018/19.

They are struggling for goals, with only four in the league this term and have conceded 18 times in nine outings.

Despite the numbers suggesting the odds are firmly in Watford’s favour, Gracia believes Huddersfield have the ability to cause his side plenty of problems.

“For me, it is the most difficult game we can play in this moment,” Gracia said of David Wagner’s Terriers.

“They are getting results which are not what they deserve for how well they are competing and they competed very well with Liverpool.

“They played very well and in this moment they just need good results.”

Watford’s recent record against Huddersfield is less than impressive, with a 4-1 loss at the Vic going alongside a 1-0 defeat on the road last season.

Gracia is fully aware of the Hornets’ record against Town and expects a testing game on Saturday.

He also knows the Terriers have had more joy away from home this season than they have at home and could benefit from hitting the road.

“They defeated us twice last season and we know it will be a very difficult game for us. We have to show our best and try and be demanding,” the Spaniard said.

“You can see from their results, whenever they have played away from home they have scored a goal. Whether they lose or draw, they always score.

“They are very powerful from set-pieces, throw ins, corners and it will not be easy defending against them.”
