AIDY BOOTHROYD described Watford's display at Glanford Park this afternoon as their best of the season.
"I thought we were terrific from start to finish," said the manager. "We had a sticky spell in the first-half but we rode it out. We had a few scares in the second-half but we came through in the end. This is not the easiest place to come as Scunthorpe are playing well and are really playing for the manager.
"Brian Laws called us bullies when I saw him the day after the Sheffield Wednesday game and I thought that was a bit disrespectful," he added. "We are more than that. We have got some good players here and I thought we were outstanding today."
Describing the front pairing of Darius Henderson and Marlon King as "excellent", Boothroyd also admitted he had no complaints with the sending off of Lee Williamson, who now faces a three-match ban.
"Yes, it was a bad tackle but he has not done it with any malice. He has done it because he is enthusiastic and because he wants to make up for mistake. I've no complaints about that."
With Damien Francis, Gareth Williams and Al Bangura out injured, Boothroyd now only has only John Joe O'Toole and Douglas Rinaldi remaining to partner Gavin Mahon.
