Lee Mason has been named as referee for Watford's first away match of the season at Everton on Saturday.

The official oversaw three Watford matches last season, including Premier League wins away at West Ham and Wolves, and the Carabao Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur which ended in a penalty shootout defeat following a frantic 2-2 draw.

Belgian defender Christian Kabasele was given a red card by Mason during the Spurs match, which was later rescinded, while three goals were scored within the final ten minutes of normal time.

Mason brandished three red cards and 99 yellows in 32 games last season.

Assisting Mason will be Kevin Friend who will be on Video Assistant Referee duties.

Friend was in charge of the same fixture last season, which ended in a 2-2 draw, as well as the Hornets' FA Cup quarter-final win over Crystal Palace and their heavy 6-0 defeat to Manchester City in the final of the same competition.
