Full-back Marc Navarro was the only of Watford's out-on-loan players to enjoy last weekend, as he played in Leganes' 3-1 pre-season win over Albacete.

His La Liga campaign kicks off this weekend against Osasuna, where he could find himself up against fellow out-on-loan Watford player Pervis Estupinan.

Osasuna were beaten 2-0 by Real Sociedad last Friday.

Meanwhile, in Brazil, highly-rated youngster Joao Pedro played the second-half of Fluminense's 2-1 defeat to Atletico Mineiro, as his team-mate Nene scored in the 88th minute, before receiving a red card nine minutes later in stoppage time.

Elsewhere, in League One, Alex Jakubiak was substituted at half-time in Gillingham's 2-1 defeat to Burton Albion, while Michael Folivi was brought on with five minutes remaining as AFC Wimbledon lost 2-1 to Fleetwood Town.

In the Eredivisie, Jerome Sinclair was brought on with 15 minutes to go as his side, VVV Venlo, trailed 2-1 away to Sparta Rotterdam.

The home side scored twice more before the end of the match and Sinclair ended up on the end of a 4-1 defeat.

Finally, Ben Wilmot was an unused substitute in Swansea's goalless draw against Derby County.
