STEVE KABBA will lead the line against his former club this evening after Darius Henderson failed a fitness test.
Henderson is still suffering from a long-standing knee problem and has failed to shake off the problem for the match at Bramall Lane.
With Collins John nursing a hamstring injury and Tamas Priskin so ineffective against Wolves, Boothroyd has opted to pair Kabba, who left the Blades this time last year, with Nathan Ellington.
Damien Francis, as expected, is also out with a knee injury but Lee Williamson returns to partner John-Joe O'Toole in midfield.
Boothroyd has also made a much-needed change in defence, recalling Adrian Mariappa who is expected to play at right back with Lloyd Doyley moving inside to partner Jay DeMerit.
Sheffield United are still without top-scorer James Beattie but Bryan Robson hands Ugo Ehiogu his debut.
Sheffield: Kenny; Bromby, Morgan, Ehiogu, Naysmith; Hendrie, Speed, Quinn, Martin; Hulse, Shelton.
Subs: Carney, Kilgallon, Tonge, Armstrong, Sharp.
Watford: Lee; Mariappa, DeMerit, Doyley, Sadler; Smith, Williamson, O'Toole, McAnuff; Ellington, Kabba.
Subs: Poom, Sewart, Priskin, Bangura, Ainsworth.
