Dan Shittu’s move to Rangers has collapsed.
The Glagow club pulled the plug on the deal for the Watford centre-half last night after failing to agree personal terms with the Nigerian international.
Manager Walter Smith told the club’s website: “Negotiations have been going on between the two clubs and the player for quite a period of time now.
“We have not managed to reach agreement on that one so it looks as though we are finished there now.”
The 27-year-old was given permission to talk to the Scottish giants after the Hornets accepted an increased offer for the defender, thought to be in the region of £1.5m, but £100,000 less than the initial £1.6m paid to Queens Park Rangers for his services two years ago.
