THE draw has taken place for the inaugural The Watford Observer Linden Homes Knockout Cricket Plate competition.

Conducted by sports editor Anthony Matthews, umpire co-ordinator David Webb, and overseen by an independent person, it reads: Chiltern v Met Police Bushey; Aldenham v Chipperfield; Old Centralians v Langleybury B or bye; Bricket Wood v Frogmore.

Langleybury B will qualify for the Plate if they lose their Second Round Trophy game against Hemel Hempstead Town on Thursday, June 19. Should Langleybury B win that match, Old Centralians will receive a bye through to the Semi-Finals.

Teams are now free to organise their matches, and it is hoped that all Quarter-Final games will be completed by Friday, June 27. The Semi-Finals are scheduled to take place in the week beginning Monday, June 30 - organisers hope to be able to confirm the date and venue(s) shortly - with the Final at Watford Town on Thursday, July 10.

Meanwhile, the seeds continue to fall in the Trophy.

With Old Merchant Taylors and holders West Herts already out, Langleybury A and Abbots Langley became the latest high-profile casualties on Thursday, June 12, when they were beaten by Moor Park and Bushey respectively.
