Watford and Swindon Town have denied speculation the Robins tabled a bid for young striker Theo Robinson.
Robinson has attracted many admirers following two successful loan spells at Hereford United and Southend United in the past two seasons and it was reported that Swindon submitted a bid for the 20-year-old.
But Watford this morning confirmed they have not received a bid for Robinson, who still has two years left on his contract at Vicarage Road.
Swindon’s apparent interest in the Birmingham-born striker could be linked to the possible departure of the League One’s joint top scorer Simon Cox, who is believed to be attracting the interest of a number of clubs.
If Swindon do try and sign Robinson then they will face competition from Southend, whose manager Steve Tilson has expressed his desire to retain the service of the striker after he scored seven goals in 21 appearances during his loan spell.
