England Saxons centre Adam Powell will be handed his first start of the season tomorrow night when Saracens face Sale Sharks.

The talented 22-year-old has been on the sidelines with a hamstring injury which has restricted him to just one appearance as a replacement against Wasps last month. But Powell will start in the centre alongside Kameli Ratuvou in the televised clash at Vicarage Road, which kicks off at 5.35pm.

Venter said: "Adam has been out injured for a while so it's great that he is back available again for us.

"Brad Barritt has done really well for us but we're pleased to be able to give Adam a start."

Sale should be fit and ready for the match with Saracens after their home game against Wasps last Friday was postponed at the last minute.

The Sharks were fuming after the visitors refused to play on the pitch claiming it was unsafe. But Sarries director of rugby Brendan Venter does not feel his team will be at any disadvantage against their opponents.

Venter said: "They are a just a good side and with some very talented individuals like Ben Cohen. We know we have to be on top of our game if we want to get the result. We have had a long weekend off so all the players are fit and refreshed for the game."

Moses Rauluni is also given his first start of the season after the Fijian scrum-half came off the bench in the second half during last week's draw at Worcester Warriors.

Hayden Smith also earns a recall in the second row after returning from international duty with USA, while wing Noah Cato is drafted back into the side in place of Richard Haughton.
