Brendan Venter believes his eventual successor will come from within Saracens after several coaches committed their future to the club.

Defence coach Paul Gustard and forwards coach Alex Sanderson have lengthened their contracts by another two years, while kicking coach Dan Vickers has also extended his stay with the Men in Black.

Sarries' director of rugby Venter, who confirmed he will still be in charge next season, believes the group of young coaches at the club, including former England international Andy Farrell, are ideally placed to succeed him when he decides to return to his medical practice in South Africa.

Venter said: "We know the next person to coach Saracens will come from within the club and that is very important. We are creating a culture here and the only way to do that is to have continuity and the right people here.

"When the job is finished and the boat is sailing along nicely, then I can move on but the job is far from finished. It is a coaching group here and there is still a lot of work to do.

"We are working hard to develop a culture of success at Saracens, and continuity and stability are absolutely critical. So it is magnificent news for everybody that our outstanding young coaching staff have confirmed their commitment to the club."

After signing Matt Stevens, Soane Tonga'uiha and Richard Wigglesworth last week, Venter has confirmed he is content with his squad and only on the lookout for one more player.

He said: "We are looking for one more signing but we didn't want to change our squad too much. We had a lot of changes last year and we need a bit of continuity and stability now so that was very important to us.

"We're just looking for a joker. We're not in a hurry. If we don't find a player, it's fine, then we won't sign anybody. It's not as if we've got a weakness. These players have basically come in for retiring players which is fantastic for us.

"The other individual is more an idea we have, it's not so much somebody we have targeted, because at the moment I don't feel we have any more weaknesses in our squad."

Saracens are in a strong position to reach the semi-finals of the LV= Cup this weekend.

Venter's side host Newport Gwent Dragons on Sunday afternoon (5pm kick-off) and must do better than Leicester Tigers who face a tough match at Northampton Saints. The Men in Black have the advantage of playing after all the other games, which will ensure they know their exact target for qualification at Vicarage Road.

Glen Jackson and Justin Marshall return to the side in place of Derick Hougaard and Moses Rauluni respectively, but second row Hugh Vyvyan has been ruled out for up to two months after damaging his knee ligament at Leeds Carnegie.

Venter said: "We are playing against a strong side. They run and tackle hard and are a very intense team. But we will know exactly what we need to get through, whether that is scoring four tries or seven tries."
