Tom Cleverley and Henri Lansbury are both doubts for tomorrow's trip to Barnsley.

The on-loan Manchester United and Arsenal midfielders will be assessed today before the squad leave for South Yorkshire.

Yesterday (Thursday), Watford manager Malky Mackay said: "Henri Lansbury has had a dodgy stomach bug so he has not been training yesterday and today so we will look at him tomorrow.

"Tom Cleverley took a heavy whack on his knee on Tuesday night and we are currently treating him as well."

Mackay also confirmed new signings Will Buckley and Stephen McGinn will be in the squad for tomorrow's match but does not expect the pair to make their debuts just yet.

Mackay said: "Buckley will be in the squad but we need to get him some football so he will be playing in the Reserves. He will be coming with us for the experience but he needs match practice first.

"McGinn needs to get games and needs to get into our way of playing, so he will play for the Reserves as well first."

Barnsley, who beat Preston North End 4-1 on Tuesday, lost 1-0 to Watford in Mark Robins’ first game in charge in September but Mackay expects it to be a tougher encounter this time around at Oakwell.

The Hornets boss said: "Mark has now had time to bring in his own players and they will be playing at home, so it will absolutely be a tough game for us."
