Scunthorpe United midfielder Michael O’Connor has been handed a three-match ban by the Football Association for hitting Tom Cleverley during Saturday’s match with Watford.
Cleverley was sent off for a rash challenge on O’Connor but the Northern Ireland international then seemed to throw a punch at the on-loan Manchester United midfielder.
The incident was missed by referee David Webb but the FA reviewed video footage and handed O’Connor a three-match ban for violent conduct.
Watford have confirmed they will not be appealing Cleverley’s three-match ban.
