Ryan Noble's brief spell at Watford has ended prematurely after the young striker returned to Sunderland after failing to make an appearance for the Hornets.

Noble had joined Watford on loan until the end of the season on March 25 but Sunderland have confirmed the 18-year-old's time with the Hertfordshire club has ended.

The striker is highly rated and he had scored 36 goals for Sunderland Reserves and Academy already this campaign before joining Watford.

It is unclear why Noble's loan has ended prematurely. Sunderland have confirmed his return but there is still no word from Watford.

I have backed MM from the start but am baffled by this transfer. We have been looking for someone to stick the ball away for us and when we take a supposed clinical finisher on loan to do that for us, he doesn't get a game.
Look how well Waghorn has done for Leicester and this bloke is supposed to be better than him.

Beggars belief! It wouldn't surprise me if Bruce called him back as he was not getting a game. Which is understandable! I would have thought tonight would be ideal to give him a game, but no doubt it will be back to the side that took us on this disasterous run!

Doubt we will be getting anymore loan players from Sunderland then!

Shame for the lad...would have been nice to see him given a go.

I mean Sordell was tonight and did ok (yes no goals but was lively and up for the game)

Rumour is that he was only ever down here to see the set up and get used to the surroundings as we are getting him on a season long loan in the summer...

Well I bet Steve Bruce will probably send him out on loan to a club who will actually play him!

What a waste of wages (and loan fee) if that is the case.
