Watford sign Hemel Hempstead-born Wales youth international on three-year deal

Watford have bolstered their goalkeeping options by signing Jonathan Bond on a professional contract.

The Hemel Hempstead-born stopper, who has been with the Hornets since the age of ten, put pen to paper on a three-year deal today, even though he is now embarking on the second year of his Academy scholarship.

A welsh youth international, the 17-year-old was part of the Under-18 team that reached the quarter-finals of the Youth Cup last season and was also an un-used substitute for five Championship games in October and November.

You know your team is in trouble when this is the only story of note.

Anyway, good luck lad, hopefully another David James in the making.

What's the latest on this Wallsall lad? Is it on or off? Do we have any alternative targets beyond the loan market?

I wonder if this could mean the club are about to accept a bid for Loach?

I would advocate the sale of Loach IF all the money gained was used to strengthen the team. But we all know it wouldn't be.

All good to sign guys for the future but what will actually happen to the club in a year if we don't get any investment?
