Watford defender Lee Hodson has received his first call-up to the full Northern Ireland squad.

Hodson will fly to Belfast on Monday morning ahead of Wednesday's International Challenge Match with Morocco.

The 19-year-old has made 45 Watford appearances since his debut on the last game of the 2008/09 season.

Northern Ireland squad: Tuffey (Inverness), Blayney (Linfield), Evans (Manchester United), Craigan (Motherwell), McCartney (Sunderland), Hughes (Fulham), Hodson (Watford), Little (Rangers), Brunt (West Bromwich Albion), Gorman (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Davis (Rangers), McGinn (Celtic), McCourt (Celtic), O'Connor (Scunthorpe United), Barton (Preston North End), Lafferty (Rangers), Patterson (Plymouth Argyle), McQuoid (AFC Bournemouth).

True..I remember when he was playing some were saying how "rubbish" Hodson was and now we find Doyley is worse despite being much more experienced they all want him back!

We do have a lot of fickle fans or maybe they just expect the players to perform like our stars of the late 70s/80s?

As one who did question Hodson please i never said he was "rubbish" . My view was that on the ball and going forward he was a decent championship full back, my worry was seeing him up against wide players with pace or power was that it looked a mismatch,Malky may have similar reservations. We are being told that he is stronger and quicker nowadays and that is why people are saying to give him another go...what is fickle about that?

Good comments but in my view he has never been slow just needs more experience and you dont get that sitting on a bench.
